Yamakhli

Yamakhli was a village in the territory of the Zangezur uezd of the former Yelizavetpol (Ganja) governorate, later in the former Gafan district, and present-day Syunik province. It was located near the village of Zeyva.

The village was inhabited by 231 Azerbaijanis in 1897. The village was destroyed as a result of attacks and massacres carried out by Armenian armed units in 1905–1906.

The toponym was coined on the basis of the name of the Yamakhli tribe.
