Shikhovuz is a river in the Zangazur uezd of the former Yelizavetpol (Ganja) governorate, later in the former Gafan district, and currently in the Syunik province. The river was marked on the five-verst map of the Caucasus.

The hydronym was coined on the basis of the word “shikh (sheikh)” and “ovuz”, the phonetic variation of the ethnonym “Oghuz”.
