Oyuglu was a summer pasture located in the territory of the Lori Pambak uezd of the Tiflis governorate, later in the former Boyuk Garakilsa (Kirovakan, Gugark) district, and present-day Lori province. It was located in the territory of the village of Hallavar.

The toponym was coined by adding the suffix “-lu” to the word “oyug” used in the sense of “an area marked with a pile of soil or stone for the purpose of demarcating a land”.
