Mollatala

Mollatala was a winter pasture located in the territory of the Gazakh uezd of the former Yelizavetpol (Ganja) governorate, later in the former Shamshaddin (Berd) district, and present-day Tavush province. It was dissolved in 1930.

The toponym was formed by combining the word “molla” (mullah) used in the religious sense and the word “tala” used in Azerbaijani in the sense of “a woodless area in the forest, bare ground”.
