Khan’s house

At the end of the former Panah Khan, and later Azizbeyov street, there is a building with obvious Islamic architectural features called “Khan’s house” by Iravan residents. Gasparyan mentioned that it was a residential house in the Demirbulag quarter, but the architectural features of the building suggest that it could be a madrasa, a Muslim spiritual school.

In the first years of Soviet rule, a Turkish women’s club operated in this building. This cultural center, which was called “Muslim Women’s Club” for a while, later it operated as a club named after Clara Setkin. Later, the building was converted into a residential house, as it is today. The brick entrance wall of the building was destroyed.
