Girgalasi is a mountain in the Zangezur uezd of the former Yelizavetpol (Ganja) governorate, later in the former Gafan district, and currently in the Syunik province.

The toponym was coined by combining the word “qır” (kır) used in the sense of “a steppe, ridge, edge, border, boundary” in Turkic and the word “gala” to denote “a castle located on the edge of a mountain”.
