Garaguney is a mountain in the Zangezur uezd of the former Yelizavetpol (Ganja) governorate, later in the former Garakilsa (Sisian) district, and currently in the Syunik province.

The toponym was coined by combining the word “gara” used in the sense of “big” and the word “guney” used in the sense of “the sunny side”.
