Chingil is a mountain in the Gazakh uezd of the former Yelizavetpol (Ganja) governorate, later in the former Shamsaddin (Berd) district, and currently in the Tavush province. It was marked on the five-verst map of the Caucasus.

The toponym was formed on the basis of the word “chingil” used in the sense of “gravel”, “stone crumbs in the mountain”.
