Chatag was a summer pasture located in the territory of the Alexandropol uezd of the former Iravan governorate, later in the former Hamamli (Spitak) district, and currently in the Lori province. It was located in the territory of the Gursali (Arjahovit) village.

The toponym was coined on the basis of the word “chatag” used in the sense of “a saddle, the place where two mountains and hills meet”.
