Chal is a mountain in the Novo-Bayazid uezd of the former Yelizavetpol (Ganja) governorate, later in the former Chambarak (Krasnoselsk) district, and currently in the Gegharkunik province. It is located in the east of the Tokhluja (Drakhtik) village of the province.

The toponym was coined on the basis of the word “chal” used in Turkic to mean “a hill, rocky place”, “a small mountain, hill”.
