Boyuk Kotakli

Boyuk Kotakli was a winter pasture located in the territory of the Gazakh uezd of the former Yelizavetpol (Ganja) governorate, later in the former Shamshaddin (Berd) district, and present-day Tavush province. It was dissolved in 1930.

The toponym was coined by adding the derivative suffix “-lı” to the Pechenegs ethnonym “Katak” (Kotak). The word “boyuk” preceding the word denotes a distinctive sign.
