Boyuk Agha was a village in the territory of the Goycha area of the historical Iravan Khanate, later in the former Basarkechar (Vardenis) district, and present-day Gegharkunik province. It was located near the village of Ganli Aghali. The village was reduced to ruins in the early 19th century.
The toponym was coined by combining the word “boyuk” meaning “distinguished, respectful, authoritative” and the personal name “Agha”.
