Berdi Kharaba was a village in the territory of the Novo-Bayazid uezd of the former Iravan governorate, later in the former Kavar (Yeni Bayazid, Kamo) district, and present-day Gegharkunik province. At present, the village is reduced to ruins. Until the end of the 19th century there had been remains of a religious temple in the village.
The toponym was coined by combining the word “berd/bert” meaning “a place hard to cross or pass” in Turkic and the word “kharaba”.
