Baharli was a village in the territory of the Zangezur uezd of the former Yelizavetpol (Ganja) governorate, later in the former Garakilsa (Sisian) district, and present-day Syunik province. It was located to the east of the village of Garakilsa and near the village of Vaghudi.

The village was inhabited by nine Azerbaijanis in 1831, 41 in 1873, 55 in 1886, 124 in 1897, 171 in 1908 and 49 Azerbaijanis in 1914. The Azerbaijanis were massacred or expelled from the village by Armenian armed formations in 1918. Later, the village was abolished. At present, it has been reduced to ruins.

The toponym was coined on the basis of the “Baharli” ethnonym of the Old Turkic Gayi tribe. This tribe who came to the territory of present-day Armenia together with the Gizilbash in the 16th century mainly resided in Zangezur.
