Being coined by adding the suffix of location “-lıq” to the word “ara” used in the sense of “a boundary, border, a line, abutment demarcating two lands, properties, etc.”, “a distance between two settlements”, “a middle position”, the toponym expresses the meaning “a village situated in the middle, between two villages, at the frontline of the two villages”.
By the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Armenian SSR dated 7 December 1945, it was renamed “Yerezgavors”. According to the law “On the administrative-territorial division of the Republic of Armenia” dated 7 November 1995, it was integrated into the administrative area of the Armavir province.
