Altuntakht

Altuntakht is a mountain in the Novo-Bayazid uezd of the former Iravan governorate, later in the former Akhta (Hrazdan) district, and present-day Gegharkunik province. It was marked on the five-verst map of the Caucasus.

The toponym was coined by combining the word “altun” used in the sense of “red” in Turkic and the word “takht” used in the sense of “a smooth, flat place at the top of the mountain”.
