Almalig is a mountain in the Zangazur uezd of the former Yelizavetpol (Ganja) governorate, later in the former Gafan district, and currently in the Syunik province.

The toponym was formed by adding the suffix “-lıq” denoting area in Azerbaijani to the word “almalı”.
