Alachigdash

Alachigdash was a winter pasture located in the territory of the Gazakh uezd of the former Yelizavetpol (Ganja) governorate, later in the former Chambarak (Krasnoselsk) district, and present-day Gegharkunik province. It was located near the village of Chaykend.

The place was inhabited by 52 Azerbaijanis in 1926. It was dissolved in the 1930s.

The toponym was coined by combining the word “alachig” used in the sense of “a hut, cabin, temporary residence” in Turkic and the word “dash” to denote “a tent made of stone”.
