Abaran is a river in the Echmiadzin uezd of the former Iravan governorate, later in the former Abaran district, and currently in the Aragatsotn province. It is spanning 98 km. The river rises in Alagoz Mountain and flows into the Araz River.
The hydronym reflects the name of the Turkic Apar (Abar) tribe. At present, it is called the Kasakh River.
