Girkhlar is a mountain in the Zangezur uezd of the former Yelizavetpol (Ganja) governorate, later in the former Garakilsa (Sisian) district, and currently in the Syunik province.

The toponym was formed on the basis of the Turkic Afshar tribal name “Girikhli”.
