Gushchagaya

Gushchagaya was a winter pasture located in the territory of the Gazakh uezd of the former Yelizavetpol governorate, later in the former Chambarak (Krasnoselsk) district, and currently in the Gegharkunik province. It was dissolved in the 1950s.

The toponym was coined on the basis of the Turkic ethnonym “Gushchu” and the word “gaya” used in the sense of “a mountain” in Azerbaijani.
