Akhinchi

Akhinchi was a winter pasture located in the territory of the Gazakh uezd of the former Yelizavetpol (Ganja) governorate, later in the former Shamshaddin (Berd) district, and present-day Tavush province. It was dissolved in 1930.

The toponym was coined on the basis of the word “akinchi (aginchi ) used in the sense of “a looting soldier”, “a fast-moving group” in Turkic.
