Arpachay (Western Arpachay) rises in Arpa and flows along the Turkish border near Gumru into the Araz River near the village of Haji Bayram (Bagaran) in the territory of Hoktemberian (Serdarabad) district. Its length is 186 km and basin size is 9,670 km². At present, it is renamed “Akhurian”.
