The Ulukhanli school, founded in Ulukhanli village of Zangibasar district in 1881, was one of the first secular schools in Iravan. The school was located in the house of Allahverdi Haji Hasan oglu.
A number of prominent educators taught at Ulukhanli school. Mirza Jalil Mammadguluzade had taught there since 1887.
After the massacres committed by Armenian in Iravan in 1918, the school did not function for a while. In the 1940s, a new two-story building was built for the school.
After the mass deportation of Azerbaijanis from Western Azerbaijan in 1987, the Ulukhanli school ceased its activities.
