Tunus

Tunus or Tulus was a village in the territory of the Zangezur uezd of the former Yelizavetpol (Ganja) governorate, later in the former Gafan district, and present-day Syunik province. It was located near the village of Ajili. The name of the village was marked on the five-verst map of the Caucasus.

The village was inhabited by 94 Azerbaijanis in 1922. The Azerbaijanis were removed to neighbouring villages of the district in 1924–1925 and the village was abolished. At present, it lies in ruins.

The toponym reflects the name of the ancient Turkic Tulus tribe.
