In 1972, the 150th anniversary of the birth of Ashiq Alasgar, a prominent representative of Azerbaijani ashiq art, was widely celebrated. At the same time, in Aghkilsa village of Basarkechar district (with changed names: Azad village of Vardenis district), a magnificent monument was erected over the grave of the prominent ashiq.

After the mass deportation of Azerbaijanis from the Armenian SSR, the graves of the village, especially the grave of Ashiq Alasgar and the gravestone monument were destroyed by Armenian vandals.
