Shishtepe is a mountain in the Alexandropol uezd of the former Iravan governorate, later in the former Gizil Goch (Gukasyan) district, and currently in the Shirak province. It was marked on the five-verst map of the Caucasus.
The toponym was coined by combining the word “shish” used in the sense of “the top of a mountain, peak, crest” and the word “tepe” used in the sense of “a small mountain, hill”.
