Pushanli

Pushanli was a village in the territory of the Zangezur uezd of the former Yelizavetpol (Ganja) governorate, later in the former Gafan district, and present-day Syunik province. It was located near the village of Baharli.

The village was inhabited by 34 Azerbaijanis in 1831 and 39 Azerbaijanis in 1897. The Azerbaijanis were attacked or massacred by Armenian armed units in 1905–1906. After the establishment of Soviet power in present-day Armenia, the Azerbaijanis managed to return to their historical territories. The village was inhabited by 20 Azerbaijanis in 1926. The village was abolished in the 1930s.

The toponym was coined on the basis of the name of the Turkic Pushanli tribe.
