Porsug was a village in the Echmiadzin uezd of the former Iravan governorate, later in the former Talin district, and present-day Aragatsotn province.

The village was reduced to ruins following the massacres committed by Armenian armed units in 1905–1906.

The toponym was coined on the basis of the animal name “porsug” meaning “a badger”.
