Peyedere was a village in the Sharur-Daralayaz uezd of the former Iravan governorate, later in the former Pashali (Azizbeyov, Vayk) district, and present-day Vayots Dzor province. The village was inhabited by 20 Azerbaijanis in 1897.
The village inhabitants were massacred by Armenian armed units in 1905–1906 and the village was devastated.
The toponym was coined by combining the word “paya” which is a synonym of the word “tovla” meaning “a stable, a sheepcot” in Azerbaijani and the word “dere”.
