Maralyatag

Maralyatag is a place in the Alexandropol uezd of the former Iravan governorate, later in the former Amasiya (Aghbaba) district, in Chakhmag (Kamkhut) village of the present Shirak province.

The toponym was coined from the animal name “maral” (deer) and the word “yatag” used in the sense of “a barn”, “a place where sheep and lambs and cattle are kept in autumn and winter”.
