“I was born in Sarvanlar village of Ulukhanli district in 1971. In December 1988, Armenians expelled us from the village of Sarvanlar. We arrived at the village of Rancbar, located on the border. From there, Russian soldiers put us in cars and brought us to Nakhchivan. From Nakhchivan, we arrived in Baku by train. We stayed in Baku for a while. Later, in 1990, I came to Khachmaz district. Our property and livestock remained in the village of Sarvanlar. We could not bring anything with us. They were killing anyone who wanted to leave with their livestock. My aunt’s son was beaten and his face was unrecognizable.”
