Kollugishlag

Kollugishlag was a village in the territory of the Zangezur uezd of the former Yelizavetpol (Ganja) governorate, later in the former Gafan district, and present-day Syunik province.

The village was inhabited by 75 Azerbaijanis in 1897. It was devastated as a result of the massacre committed by Armenian armed units in 1905–1906.

The toponym was coined by combining the words “kollu” meaning “bushy” and “gishlag” meaning “a wintering place for animals”.
