Khish

Khish was a village in the territory of the Zangezur uezd of the former Yelizavetpol (Ganja) governorate, later in the former Gafan district, and present-day Syunik province. It was located near the village of Baharli and on the left bank of the Gighi River. Armenian sources point out that the ancient name of the village was “Khichi, Khech”.

The village was inhabited by 43 Azerbaijanis in 1897. The village was devastated in the early 20th century as a result of massacre committed by Armenian armed units in 1905–1906. At present, it lies in ruins.
