Kerembichen was a winter pasture located in the territory of the Gazakh uezd of the former Yelizavetpol (Ganja) governorate, later in the former Chambarak (Krasnoselsk) district, and present-day Gegharkunik province. It is located in the territory of the Tokhluja (Drakhtik) village of the province.
The toponym was coined by combining the personal name “Kerem” and the participle “bichen”. The grass of that area was called “Kerembichen”, because it was first cut by a person named Kerem.
