Kecheltepe

Kecheltepe was a winter pasture located in the territory of the Borchali uezd of the Tiflis governorate, later in the former Barana (Noyemberyan) district, and present-day Tavush province. It was subordinated to the Yukhari Korpulu village.

The pasture was inhabited by 14 Azerbaijanis in 1926. In 1930 it was dissolved as a settlement.

The toponym was coined by combining the word “kechel” used in the sense of “grassless, bald” and the word “tepe” used in the sense of “a small mountain, hill” to denote “a winter pasture near the grassless, bald hill”.
