Kechaltepe

Kechaltepe was a village in the territory of the Zangezur uezd of the former Yelizavetpol (Ganja) governorate, later in the former Gafan district, and present-day Syunik province. It was located near the village of Zeyva.

The village was inhabited together by 185 Azerbaijanis and Armenians in 1926. The village was abolished in the 1930s. The toponym was coined on the basis of the word “kechal” meaning “bald, not covered by the usual leaves, bark or vegetation” and “tepe” meaning “a hill”.
