Ikinji Gilijyatag was a village in the Alexandropol uezd of the former Iravan governorate, later in the former Talin district, and currently in the Aragatsotn province. The village was marked on the five-verst map of the Caucasus.
The village was inhabited by 89 Azerbaijanis in 1897. The Muslim Kurds were settled in the village in 1915–1920. The Azerbaijanis were attacked, massacred or ousted from the village by Armenian armed formations in 1918. Later, the village was abolished. At present, it lies in ruins.
The toponym was coined by combining the words “ikinji”, a distinctive feature, “gilij” meaning “the highest part of a mountain, a mountain peak” in Azerbaijani and “yatag” meaning “a stable or a cot for keeping sheep or cows in autumn and winter”.
