It was located 38 km to the northwest of the town of Gafan, on the bank of the Gighi River and at a height of 2,050 m above sea level. The name of the village was noted as “Hajati” in “The Iravan Province Review Book” and marked as “Hachaati” on the five- verst map of the Caucasus, as “Hajati” in Azerbaijani sources, as “Hajatin” in the works of Armenian authors.

The village was solely inhabited by Azerbaijanis: 30 in 1897, 41 in 1922, 51 in 1926, 71 in 1931 and 95 Azerbaijanis in 1939.

The farms of the village were integrated into the village of Gighi. At present, the village is in ruins.
