Goytepe is a mountain in the Novo-Bayazid uezd of the former Iravan governorate, later in the former Basarkechar (Vardenis) district, and currently in the Gegharkunik province. It is located 2 km to the east of Goshabulag (Shadjrek) village.
The toponym was coined by combining the word “goy” used in the sense of “greenery, green grass” in Azerbaijani and the word “tepe” used to mean “a hill”, “a small mountain”.
