Gizilgaya is a mountain in the Zangezur uezd of the former Yelizavetpol (Ganja) governorate, later in the former Garakilsa (Sisian) district, in the territory of the Aghudi (Aguti) village of the present Syunik province.

The toponym was coined on the basis of the word “gizil” used in the sense of “red” and the word “gaya” used in the sense of “a mountain”.
