Gazangol

Gazangol is a lake in the Zangazur uezd of the former Yelizavetpol (Ganja) governorate, later in the former Gafan district, and currently in the Syunik province. It is located at Gazangol Mountain and 20 km to the north of the village of Ajibaj. The area of the lake is 0.18 km² and its depth is 10 m. The lake was marked on the five-verst map of the Caucasus.

The hydronym was coined by combining the Bulgarian ethnonym “Gazan (Kazan)” and the word “gol”.
