Garasaggal

Garasaggal was a village in territory of the Novo-Bayazid uezd of the former Iravan governorate, later in the former Garanlig (Martuni) district, and present-day Gegharkunik province. It was located near the village of Alchali.

The village was initially inhabited by Azerbaijanis who gradually left it after the Armenian settlement in the region. At present, it lies in ruins. The toponym was coined on the basis of the ethnonym “Garasaggal”.
