Ganjayal is a mountain in the Sharur-Dalayaz uezd of the former Iravan governorate, later in the former Keshihkend (Yeghegnadzor) district, in the terrirtory of the present Vayots Dzor province.

The toponym was coined by combining the word “yal” used in the sense of “the top of a high place, upright, the top of the hill” and the Turkic tribal name “Genjek”.
