Doghs

Doghs is a village in the Echmiadzin uezd of the former Iravan governorate, in the former Uchkilsa (Echmiadzin, Vagharshapat) district, and currently in the Armavir province. The village had been solely inhabited by Azerbaijanis until 1828. The village was inhabited by 48 Azerbaijanis and 63 Armenians in 1831, 249 Azerbaijanis, 156 Armenians in 1873, 330 Azerbaijanis, 171 Armenians in 1886, 480 Azerbaijanis, 189 Armenians in 1897. Azerbaijanis had been there until 1918 when the village was exposed to the aggression of armed Armenians who deported the inhabitants, Azerbaijanis, from their historical-ethnic land. At present, only Armenians live there.

According to the law “On the administrative-territorial division of the Republic of Armenia” dated 7 November 1995, it was integrated into the administrative area of the Armavir province.
