Dashaghan is a river in the Novo-Bayazid uezd of the former Iravan governorate, later in the former Basarkechar (Vardenis) district, and currently in the Gegharkunik province, flowing through the village of Sariyagub (Jaghatsadzor).

The hydronym was coined by adding the adjectiveforming ending “-aghan” to the verb “dash (dashmag).
