Chaldash was a village in the Aghbaba area (nahiya) of the Kars uezd of the former Kars province, later in the former Amasiya (Aghbaba) district, and currently in the Shirak province. It was located to the left of the village of Tepekoy (Berdashen). The village was reduced to ruins in the late 19th century.
The toponym was coined by combining the word “chal” meaning “a place with less vegetation or without vegetation”, also “a hill, a rocky place”) and the word “dash” meaning “a mountain, a rock”.
