Bulbulolen

Bulbulolen was a village in the territory of the Sharur-Daralayaz uezd of the former Iravan governorate, later in the former Keshishkend (Yeghegnadzor) district, and present-day Vayots Dzor province. It was located 3-4 km to the west of Ortakend, between the villages of Hasankend and Goytul, and near Takadonduran Mountain. Other names for the village were Bulbuloghlu and Kaha.

The village was solely inhabited by Azerbaijanis: 67 in 1831, 163 in 1873, 205 in 1886, 252 in 1897, 398 in 1904, 437 in 1914 and 223 Azerbaijanis in 1916. The Azerbaijanis were attacked, massacred or ousted from the village by Armenian armed formations in 1918. After the establishment of Soviet power in present-day Armenia, the inhabitants that survived managed to return to their ethnic lands. 53 Azerbaijanis lived there in 1922. They were deported in 1923–1925 and the village was abolished. At present, the village is in ruins.
