Beybudabad

Beybudabad was a village in the territory of the Iravan uezd of the former Iravan governorate, later in the former Zangibasar (Masis) district, and present-day Ararat province. It was located near the village of Tezekend (Ayntap). The village was first mentioned in 1465-1466.

The village was abolished in the early 19th century. At present, the village is in ruins. The toponym was coined by combining the personal name “Beybud” and the Persian borrowing into Azerbaijani “abad” to denote “a setlement or a village”.
