Baltaderesi

Baltaderesi was a winter pasture located in the territory of the Novo-Bayazid uezd of the former Iravan governorate, later in the former Chambarak (Krasnoselsk) district, in the territory of the village of Ardanish of the present Gegharkunik province.

The place was inhabited by 12 Azerbaijanis in 1926. It was dissolved in the 1930s.

The toponym was coined by combining the Turkic tribal name “Balta” and the word “dere” to denote “a valley belonging to the Balta tribe, place of residence”.
